Written and maintained by ZagTrader. Last reviewed . How this page is sourced and checked

- Usually announced as

What OMET means
Some company laws distinguish ordinary meetings, which decide routine matters by simple majority, from extraordinary meetings, which decide changes to the company itself. OMET is the code for the ordinary kind, alongside MEET for the annual meeting and XMET for the extraordinary or special one.
The message works like any other meeting notice in the MT564: agenda, meeting date and place, record date, deadlines, and voting options in sequence E such as CONY, CONN, ABST or NOAC.
OMET is not in the event code list of seev.031. In ISO 20022 the meeting is announced in seev.001 (Meeting Notification); the meeting types in seev.001.001.13 are GMET, XMET, MIXD, SPCL, BMET and CMET, so an ordinary meeting is sent as GMET (general meeting).
When you see it
- In an MT564 with
:22F::CAMV//VOLU, from account servicers in markets that name ordinary meetings separately; others use MEET for the same meeting. - When an ordinary and an extraordinary meeting are held on the same day, they may be announced as two events, or as one combined meeting (ISO 20022 meeting type
MIXD).
