Official definition
Amount received is not the amount agreed or expected
What it means in practice
In a pacs.002 or pain.002 status report, a status reason code explains why a payment instruction was rejected (RJCT) or why it has another status. It sits in TxInfAndSts/StsRsnInf/Rsn/Cd.
The amount received is not the amount that was agreed or expected. In cancellation requests it asks to stop a payment sent with the wrong amount.
What to do
- Agree the correct amount with the counterparty, cancel or return the wrong payment, then send a new one.
