What MT381 is used for
Besides confirming an MT380, the MT381 can confirm the foreign exchange done for one or more securities settlement instructions (MT541 or MT543), or for a combination of MT380 orders and those instructions. It gives the rate and the bought and sold amounts. It can also cancel an earlier confirmation (field 23G CANC), or be sent as a duplicate or a copy.
Use of the MT381 requires registration in a Swift message user group (MUG).
