MT775 Amendment to a Demand Guarantee / Standby Letter of Credit
Written and maintained by ZagTrader. Last reviewed . How this page is sourced and checked
The MT775 carries the part of a guarantee or standby amendment that does not fit in the MT767. The issuer sends it with the MT767, under the same undertaking number and amendment number, with the remaining amended terms of the undertaking and, for a counter-guarantee, of the local undertaking. It was introduced in the November 2021 guarantee release.

What MT775 is used for
The MT775 does for amendments what the MT761 does for issuance. The redesigned MT767 carries the structured changes, and long narrative changes continue in one or more MT775 messages numbered in field 27, with the amendment number in field 26E.
The receiving bank should hold the amendment until every part has arrived before advising it. The beneficiary’s acceptance or rejection of the amendment comes back in an MT787.

Fields
This is a catalogue entry: the field-by-field structure is not shown here because we publish structures only where we have checked them against public sources. Paste an MT775 into the parser to see each field decoded with its tag, name and value.
ISO 20022
No ISO 20022 equivalent in use on Swift. ISO 20022 defines tsrv.005 Undertaking Amendment, but guarantee amendments between banks are still sent as MT767 and MT775.
