Official definition
Payment instruction has been rejected.
What it means in practice
A payment transaction status code is the value of TxSts in a pacs.002 or pain.002 status report and of the status in Swift gpi tracker messages (trck).
The payment was rejected. The status report carries a reason code in StsRsnInf/Rsn/Cd that says why, and nothing was settled for this leg.
What to do
- Read the reason code and fix the cause, then send a new payment with a new reference and UETR. See the status reason codes.
