What YCOL means
Settlement credit, auto-collateralisation and some lending or financing arrangements require collateral. When the collateral on your account does not cover the exposure the instruction would create, the instruction waits with YCOL.
Under PPRC processing is pending; under PEND or PENF the instruction is in settlement and blocked by the collateral check. A plain cash shortage is reported as MONY.
When you see it
- On accounts that settle on credit secured by collateral, and in collateral management or triparty flows.
What to do next
- Check the collateral position and the haircut applied, and deliver more collateral or reduce the exposure, then ask the custodian to retry.
