The MT800 combined the sales and the settlement of travellers cheques sold by a single selling agent in one message to the issuer. It was still part of the category 8 standard in the 2017 release but no longer appears in Swift’s list of all MT messages published in May 2024.

What MT800 is used for
The remaining category 8 messages are the MT801 for the sales details and the MT802 for the settlement, plus the common group messages.
