MT935 Rate Change Advice

Written and maintained by ZagTrader. Last reviewed . How this page is sourced and checked

The MT935 advises interest rate changes. The sender, usually the account servicing bank, uses it to tell the receiver about a change in a general rate, such as its base or prime rate, or in the rate on specific accounts it services for the receiver, other than call and notice loan or deposit accounts.

What MT935 is used for

Each of the one to ten repetitions covers either a type of rate (field 23, with codes BASE, CALL, COMMERCIAL, CURRENT, DEPOSIT, NOTICE or PRIME after the currency) or one account (field 25), never both. Field 30 gives the effective date and field 37H the new rate, marked C for a credit rate or D for a debit rate; 37H may repeat when several rates change.

For NOTICE, the number of days’ notice can be given between the currency and the code, for example EUR07NOTICE.
