Category 9 MT messages: cash management and customer status
Written and maintained by ZagTrader. Last reviewed . How this page is sourced and checked
Category 9 is the reporting side of cash: confirmations of single debits and credits (MT900, MT910), customer statements (MT940) and interbank statements (MT950), intraday reports (MT942) and balance reports (MT941), and the request message that asks for them (MT920).
It also holds rate change advices (MT935), netting statements and reports (MT970 to MT973) and the status enquiry and report pair (MT985, MT986).
Reporting messages were not switched off in November 2025: MT9xx statements and confirmations continue to be supported alongside their ISO 20022 equivalents (camt.052, camt.053, camt.054).
21 message types in the current standard (6 with a full page).
