MT501 Confirmation of Registration or Modification
Written and maintained by ZagTrader. Last reviewed . How this page is sourced and checked
The MT501 is sent by an account servicer to the account owner to confirm that securities have been registered, re-registered or deregistered with the registration provider, or that registered client details were changed. It is the closing message of the flow started by an MT500 or MT519, and the servicer can also use it to cancel a confirmation it sent earlier.

Field 23G is NEWM for a confirmation and CANC when the servicer withdraws a confirmation it sent by mistake. Until the registration is done, the account owner receives MT510 status messages instead; the MT501 only arrives once the registration provider has acted.
