What MT510 is used for

Field 23G gives the purpose: INST for the status of an instruction, REGT for the status of the registration process, and CAST for the reply to a cancellation request. Linkages (sequence A1) and status (sequence A2, with 25D and optional reasons) are mandatory, so every MT510 points back to the instruction it reports on. The final confirmation of a completed registration is the MT501. An MT549 can ask for an MT510.
