MT506 Collateral and Exposure Statement
Written and maintained by ZagTrader. Last reviewed . How this page is sourced and checked
The MT506 gives the valuation of the collateral, the exposure or both under a bilateral collateral arrangement. Either the collateral giver or the collateral taker (or their collateral managers) can send it, and it can be requested with an MT549.
What MT506 is used for
The statement supports the margin process but is not a claim: a call for collateral is made with an MT503, which can be backed by an MT506. The sender can cancel a statement sent earlier, and the DUPL, COPY and CODU subfunctions mark duplicates and information copies. For triparty arrangements, where an agent values and allocates the collateral, the equivalent report is the MT569.

Fields
This is a catalogue entry: the field-by-field structure is not shown here because we publish structures only where we have checked them against public sources. Paste an MT506 into the parser to see each field decoded with its tag, name and value.
