MPRC: Modification Request

MPRC means your counterparty has requested a change to this transaction, and the change waits for your matching modification request or your consent.

What MPRC means

:25D::IPRC//MPRC works like CPRC but for changes instead of cancellations. Where a modification has to be agreed by both sides, the account servicer tells you the counterparty has asked for one.

Which fields can be modified, and whether consent is needed, depends on the market. Changes to matching fields usually require cancelling and re-instructing on both sides rather than a modification.

When you see it

  • In an MT548 for an instruction in a market that supports bilateral modification, after the counterparty sends its change.

What to do next

  • Ask the counterparty what they want to change and why.
  • If you agree, send your own modification (for processing indicators an MT530, in MX sese.030) or follow the servicer’s consent process.
  • Track the result through the MODC, MOPN or DEND status.
